Earlier this week, I had to get the transmission shift assembly replaced. Now, the truck doesn't start like it should. It usually doesn't start while in park (it does start once in a while). It always starts while in N. Any ideas as to what I should do now?
I took it to the dealer (don't say nothin). It was working fine in park when we got it. I go to pull it in to the drive from the street and nothin. I guess I have another trip to the dealer then...
After I pulled her into the drive, I started hearing a pinging noise coming from the starter area. The pings were about 6 seconds apart and kept going for at least 10 min. I don't know when they stopped as I went inside. Could this have anything to do with my situation?
It's not the normal exhaust cool down. I've never heard that pinging sound before. At first I thought it was the exhaust, but the truck was only on for about 10 sec. I felt the exhaust and it was cold, but the pinging kept on.
