Dome light gremlin "RED LARIAT"
I have a friend (Imagine that
) "red lariat" who is new to FTE. His dome light was acting up will not work with drivers door . Well his clock spring was bad so he fix it with FORD parts. No dome light.
Its work with light switch and pass door. says he has no power at all to swithch harness on drivers . I might go up and help figure out just wanted some ideas.
Pass side switch bad? Wiring ? would the head light switch be bad ? If it was that you would think neither side or light switch would activate dome.

The switch in the pillar switches the ground side of the dome light. It's probably a bad switch.

Does he have remote keyless entry? I noticed with my 97 with keyless, the dome lights are wired different than non-keyless trucks. The keyless entry module must control them as I can hear a relay-type sound under the dash with the switches and even notice the delay compared to my non-keyless 95.
