2000 x 167000 miles, just got back from a trip from Dallas to L.A. up the coast to Washington, and home through Idaho, Utah and Colorado. About 6100 miles total, pulled our 9200# travel trailer for most of it. Truck has never run better. Have changed the plugs X3, MC oil and filter every 3000 or so miles. Trans fluid change every 50,000miles. Brakes, tires and 2 batts. Only other thing I've done is changed the thermostat last year.
My 2000 E-450SD has about 94,000 now, and runs like new, but its time for plugs. Is it true that if you have the plugs changed at a Ford dealer, and they strip one out, they will fix it for the original estimated price to replace the plugs?
Mike.
800K is a lot of miles, even if it went through several engines, and transmissions, that's getting you moneys worth.
As a kid, I recall most cars and light trucks never got to the 100,000 mile mark, it was a big deal if one turned over once.
In the early 60s the odometer only went to 100K, and if one went over that the first digit on the left would turn green, on Chrysler products, so you would know it had over 100K on it.
That was before modern detergent oil's, spin on oil, and good air filters, and fuel injection, plus better machining. That's when engine and drive train life really started to improve.
[IMG][/IMG]99 with 276000 Don't know how to post pic but it is in my galery. pull 27' enclosed trailer loaded with bikes and quads on on off the sand get's around 10 town 13 hwy was doing better untill they started puttinig ethenal in the fuel
When did you purchase it and when was it lifted? Mileage with mods is a bonus...I only have 40K or so. Too many vehicles to let one get old.
