I like the bottle jack and jack stand all in one idea. I may throw the old high-lift into the Ex as well, for added insurance.

I am going to talk with a guy I go to church with about the spare tire rack idea, see if he thinks we can make it work. I will make sure to post pics if I decide to try this out.
I like this jackstand and bottle jack all in one. Where did you buy it from?

That all in one looks like it would fold up into a taco under an X.

Pitcrw6, I ended up buying it from Walmart, but they can be found on many websites.

Snowseeker, I hope you are wrong, as it is rated for 3 tons. I guess I will have to see. It should arrive here tomorrow via FedEx.

Just the way the jack is levered to the jack stand is what looks like would break to me.

I see what you are saying, I hope it proves tougher than that

As for the spare tire rack, it look like I am going to have to hold off on that for a little while. Money is coming up short quicker than I thought!

Best option I have yet to see for this is the Reunel if they are still in business. Reunel Extreme Heavy Duty Bumpers

Those Reunel's are nice, but crazy expensive. I like the simplicity of reusing a spare tire rack, but it is just not in the cards at the moment.

This set up looks kind of cool, and wouldn't be to hard for a fabricator to do.

We have looked at those as well, and while an interesting idea, they end up suspending the tire a fair distance from the back of the Ex. In my opinion, it looks a little awkward.

How about using the hitch to store spare tire?. When you need to tow, move the spare to the trailer. Design it so you can swing the spare down and use it as a step, also to open the barn door. A little inconvenient, but it's price to pay for having large tires.

Check out winch ready bumpers they make a bumper similar to road armor with a tire carrier. They don't list it on thier website but look at www.truckaddons.com they make one with tail light guards too. I'm thinking about buying one myself it runs around $2000.
