ok i have a 96 f250 4x4 and it started to make a noise when turning. i know for a fact that it is not the power steering pump. it sounds like it is coming from the spindles, where they attach to the axle. is there a bushing there to replace or does anybody have any ideas???
i found the squeeking is coming from. it is where the left spindel attaches to the axle. if i spray it with wd40 it stops for awile. is that somthing that is hard to replace?? or is it a PITA?? thanks
.......had this simular squeal/squeeking from the front spindle's > > > > come to find out when i pulled apart and re-did/repacked wheel bearing's that the INNER Bearing seal which is the one against the Inner_bearing's of the rotor, was rubbing, (which was making the squeal/squeeking), against this "step_seal" which was tapped onto the spindle/against the Splash_shield; once you put this all together and all ! ! ! .......... NOW, with tech_info_help from Skandocious, and then confirming this part at my local Ford "Stealership", YES this "seal-part" is available to purchase, ( like 15.99 ea ), & has Ford part # and all, >>> BUT,<<< it does NOT show up for in the/any picture breakdown/layout of the front's spindle & part's associating with.... ......go figure for that one out..... .........YES the Dealership show'd me by turning the screen and we went thru different year's as well and all show this part listed, BUT NO picture of.......i was told that "it was probably an add_extra feature for 4x4's, MAYBE".... ...........gzzzz, but for that price & the problem of, I just tapp'd off that seal and just replaced all back together & repacked with Lithium_based grease & New Inner-Bearing seal's, { just left that "added-stepp'd" one off}........re-torqued and replaced brakes & wheel's and .......TADA ! ! ! > > > > NO MORE SQUEAL / SQUEEKing noise . . . . . .hopefully this is your culprit of the problem as well & i hope i shed'd some good light of help for ya . . . . .
