BTW, I finally found a pic of the inside of the MBRP muffler. A lot of guys suggest the muffler delete, but with this system, I'd say there isn't much difference with or without the muffler:
Joe
I thought so too. Take that muffler out and you won't belive. You like the sound of it now, take it out and see.
Well I finally got around to ordering the MBRP 409 system today and was told by the salesman at Thouroughbred Diesel that ALL 4" kits include the SS exhaust tip #T5051.
$430 to the door...that's a hard price to beat!
Thanks again IZZY for the website link...
I think you're getting a hell of a deal. I paid $60 extra for my tip -- total was $490...
You'll love it!!! I still look like this driving mine...

NO!!! I won't do it. I'll probably like it and like the other guy said -- I leave between 5:30 & 6am from a neighborhood with 80x120 lots. I drive by lots of peoples' homes I like -- I want to keep it that way!!
I think the only time your neighbors would notice it is if it's cold out and you still have the EBPV connected. THEN it sounds like a jet. I disconnected it to be considerate and can hardly tell the difference. It's going down the road through a tunnel, overpass or next to a concrete wall that it sounds loud and cool.
MANY years ago I worked with a guy whose neighbor had a car with this hyper-sensitive alarm. This was actually an apartment complex, and it was a lifted Suzuki Samurai (yes, what a waste... anyway). Lots of kids in these apt's and this thing would go off if a bird passed gas in a tree 30' away. Apparently one night a bunch of neighbors were having a late-night cookout and this thing starts going off. They POUND on the guys door and he yells back that he's not getting up.
PUNCHLINE: That guy came out the next morning to a car that had been absolutely MAULED.
Now, I don't think a muffler delete would be that annoying, but if we lose consideration for our neighbors, they might just lose it for us...

You'd be amazed how much louder ANYTHING sounds when it's the only noise out there. Try this: Open a can of soda in your front yard at 4AM - I bet you'll hear the echo off your neighbor's house, fence, SUV... Now, do that at noon. Nothing. Now think what a 4" or 5" OPEN EXHAUST sounds like to people trying to sleep at 4 or 5AM....
I can't force you to move to a new house... just make you wish you never moved in.

And that's why I disconnected the EBPV. And I didn't like the jet sound when I come back from my tree-stand and I'm trying to have lunch in the woods and listen to the game. Got tired of having to keep hitting the brake-pedal to shut it off.
Not saying anyone is wrong in their opinion of how loud it is, just say how I measure it.
Hi, do you think it worth it to buy the T304? I live in the south, but would yall spend the extra over the 409?
If they use salt on the roads, then probably so. I live in Colorado where they don't use salt, so I went with the aluminized exhaust. If I still lived in Maryland where they use salt, I'd probably spring for the stainless.
