I am in the process of replacing the drag link and I got the pitman arm side off easy but the other side is hard , can I use a tie rod fork to remove from what I think is called the center link, or will the banging damage something? THANKS
I used the forks and I'm pretty sure that's what you should use, but I have both sizes. If you don't have the proper size, AZ or Adv. Auto will loan you one. I think I remember in Adv. Auto that they list a loaner fork for both the draglinks and the tie rod ends.
It might have been easier to have removed the pitman arm side last because of all the slop in the whole thing.

I just retightened the pitman arm side B4 starting the other side,Thanks for the comeback
I don't think the 3 forks are that much different. One of mine just seems to be smaller than the other. I don't see any other difference, but I know I used one of them on my 89's drag link. Have fun! I know I didn't.
HAHA! Sound like me exactly. When I changed out my steering box, I didn't have a vice to hold the steering box in place to remove the big pitman arm nut. I couldn't easily remove it in place. So I ran my other van onto the steering box to hold it down. Worked great!
