I would love to throw an obs in my 94 just isn't in the budget
super cheap to throw an OBS into your 94.
because your 94 IS an OBS.
OBS = old body style of the 92-97 F series.
now if youre talking about the TP38 or the GTP38, all you need is some fab skills,
and the will..
i just purchased a GTP-38 (99.5-03) for 160 bucks on e-bay, bearings are good, but wheel is done.
i have a good used center section from my last PSD build.
going to build some headers which cost a bit of coin, but all stainless steel.
and a custom intake, with the center section cut out.
where theres a will, theres a way.
I have a K&N air filter I been using since 2008 so... 8 years. Pretty sure I've only used 2 recharge kits and I think they are like 11$. If you don't like waiting around for the filter to dry buy an extra one. Swap it out and clean the other at your leisure. Anybody have more picture of home made intake configurations?
I'm getting a non turbo 92-93 F350 dually soon from a friend. I have a Cummins 6BT turbocharger off of a engine I parted out some time ago. I'm thinking about using it on the 7.3. Has anyone used one before on a 7.3? Fabricating isn't a big deal to me. I pull doubles for FedEx and also the contractor's diesel mechanic. Just wanting some opinions on using this turbo. Positive and negative.

I'm guessing a HX35 or similar?
The HX35 is a little too small for our engines, but will work. It'll provide a strong, torquey low end, but limit HP to around 204 or so at the wheels.
You can always do it, and then upgrade to a bigger one once you are ready.
add an electric fuel pump and raycor filter to fuel line system so you have the standard mechanical pump plus an electric pump delivering adequate fuel supply to injector pump. Cost about $50
Now you will flow air through the engine and match that increased flow to a adequate fuel supply from the dual pumps.
NEVER use an electric fuel pump in conjunction with the mechanical pump. It can blow the diaphragm and fill your crankcase with diesel fuel before you know it. One or the other, not both.
And they are not the limiting factor for fueling for the engine, a healthy mechanical or electric pump puts out plenty 5-7 psi and 33gph roughly is what they need, high fuel pressure will mess with the timing.

Hx35 is way too small. H1C would work better with the 17cm exhaust housing, but the turbine is still small, and the trim on the compressor isnt really suited to a 7.3, but it will work. I had one in my 79, pulled hard down low, but by 2400 it was suffocating the engine, and that was with the wastegate unhooked, as in not on the turbo, as in always open.
