Now your talking apples and oranges, To change paramaters you would need to be an exp tunner, thats outa my reach! The guys and gals that work for these company's that sell chips are dynoed, road tested and tested some more! To be able to set your own paramaters might be risky unless you know what you are doing. Thats why these varous company sell so many different levels of power, one of them will surely fit your style, weather it be towing or racing or for economy! Do some research I think you will be able to find one to suite you!

Wow

Thanks for all the answers guys. This site and you guys are unbelieveably helpful. How difficult are some of these mods? I can do alot of stuff myself, new intake and exhaust no prob, but I have never run new gauges and what is a transmission plate and how hard is it and a boost regulator to install?

Thanks,
Chad

The transmission valve body controls the shift. Makes it shift firm and/or harsh if you so desire. BTS will set you up with the kit you need.

Most of the basic mods are quite easy. Intake, exhaust, gauges, boost regulator, chip... all are things that the average guy can do himself.

I am really lucky in that I live 40 miles from his shop. David is a GREAT guy and his entire staff is not only experts in Ford diesels but they are also friendly and fun guys to be around.

Diesel Innovations gets my business too.

Before you do anything, I suggest you run gauges first. That way you know what your truck will do for a baseline. For instance, I knew that I would run about 75-80 above ambient temps with my stock trans and a 6.0 cooler. After the BTS trans went in, I can measure what I run and know that I am doing 75-80 above ambient towing my 8500# toy hauler. That way, when Brian said my trans should run cooler, I can verify it and know whether he is blowing smoke up my butt or not. I also know that I am running about 65 above empty as opposed to previously running 75-80 above.
