64 Farline 500 question?

I am looking into restoring a 64 Farline 500 from a junk yard. I was wondering if anyone knows or knows where I can find out more about what options the 500 had. Like what engines were offered, the transmission, axel ratio. The 64 has half of an engine in it already and the transmission. how can I tell what type of engine it has? can it be determined by measuring the width of the piston bore or would it be easier to hunt down the VIN codes? The hood also has a rectangle hole cut out if this helps any. I was thinking about putting the 351M out of my old 79 cougar I sold the junk yard but if I can find out what engine it has I may just skip that part. Thanks for your input.
