Hmm. Those three pieces in your diagram there. Yeah, I dont have those. Only one nut, and it doesnt have those slots on it for the wrench. I need to get some pics for you guys.

it sounds like someone has ommitted the 3 piece lock and replaced it with th style nut thats found on your rear diffs, pics would be great at this point though, and if my theory is correct you need to put the right goodies back in.

Now that my truck actually runs I need to get the front end squared away. I'd like to order the correct spindle nuts and whatever else I need. From the picture Neal posted it looks like I need 2 other parts aside from the spindle nut. Does anyone have part numbers or even correct names for these parts?

Thanks!
Steve.

That nut you found is from the rear axle (racheting) like c00n said. You probably ain't going to like what you find in there. Check the spindle for damage. I have a couple extra nuts like this: You can have them.

Jim, I ordered the nuts and washers from rockauto today. But thanks for the offer, thats very kind of you. Your are scaring me, I hope theres no damage done inside. What exactly would cause the damage?

Joe, thanks for the part numbers. On the ball as usual.

I assume anyone that would put that nut in there is either a big dumbazz or they really know what they're doing just to dump the truck.......cheap & dirty.
