starter problems
Well after replacing the starter and the starter solnoid on the fender i'm still having trouble. It will start fine and then every now and then it will screech like its being started again after its been running. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

It could be the ring gear on the flexplate has dead spots in it (worn teeth). Take a good look at the gear by rolling the engine over by hand. Even a new starter can be bad. The gear may not be sliding all the way into the ring gear. The shaft and gear on the starter are very close tolerance and it doesn't take much to make it hang. MOst remans don't get new ones. About the only thing that ever goes wrong with them is the brush plate. I get mine rebuilt by a local guy. I watch him do it in about 10-15 minutes. $50 out the door.
