I have a 2002 f350 psd any one have any ideas how to make the auto lock when you start driving stop. I find this very annoying i get out and can't get anything out of any door without remembering to unloock the doors . I think my dogs are annoyed too! Thanks
Yep. RTFM. It's in there... I wanted mine to lock, so I turned it back on after the previous owner apparently turned it off...
It's on page 64 of my '02 F250 manual. But here's how to do it:
Deactivating/activating the autolock feature
Before following the procedure, make sure that the ignition is OFF and
all vehicle doors are closed.
You must complete steps 1-7 within 30 seconds or the procedure will
have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must
wait 30 seconds.
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from ON to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to ON. The horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will
chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long
chirp) if autolock was activated.
7. Turn the ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp once to confirm the
procedure is complete.
There is a convoluted way to disable this, something like turn the key on 3 times and then hit the door lock button several times but I cant find the procedure now. Might want to check with the dealer and see if they have the procedure they can print out for you.
was reading on here somewhere in the last couple days about them but think it was the type with buttons on the door
guess 2000's didn't have them but know they are a pain
Thanks that worked awesome I now no longer feel the need to take a hammer to all of my door locks.. Who knew there could be such valuable info in the owners manual! Well I don't have one but probably never would have looked there any way. Thanks Again I love this place!
