Annoying key chime

Annoying key chime whenever I open my door the truck starts making a annoying chiming sound. Does anybody know where the chime box is??

I believe that my '05 has the same problem that yours has. In my case the chime is the key left in the ignition warning. It drives me crazy cause when I open the door and take the key out, it keeps chiming. Sometimes if I adjust the steering wheel position all the way up, it will stop.

The little tab that makes contact when the key is in the ignition is pretty easy to get to once you pull the tumbler out. A small piece of electric tape will keep it from chiming for a long time. There is thread on the "how to" somewhere here on FTE.

Ok thanks I'll have to try that.

There is a black wire with a green or purple strip that is in the ignition wire harness to the right of the fuse panel. You just need to cut that wire. Sorry I can't be more definitive on the stripe color. If you google the problem it will probably take you to a link on this forum. That is how I fixed mine.
