wastegate sound
does any of your trucks give the wastegate sound when you let off the throttle? while filming my shift kit video i tried to pick it up, it aint the best but you can hear it. i get tons of people asking where i got my wastegate from and they dont believe me when i tell them i dont have one

Waste gates done make any niose. they just bypass exhuast from the exhuast housing of the turbo right to the exhuast outlet skipping the exhuast wheel. The sound you hear is just the turbo spooling down and the air coming back thru the air filter.
Yes my truck makes that sound. Its really loud when you are full throttle up a sand dunes and set out quickly at the top to keep from getting air. I will be shooting a video of that next time I go up.

cool i've never heard any other truck make that noise, i knew it was the turbo bleeding back throught the intake since there is nowhere else for it to go, my buddies 97 doesnt make the noise, and yeah mine is very loud under full load and letting off quick, it sounds awesome, quite a head turner goin through town

You'll only here tha noise from a truck with a intercooler. Its all the boost built up in the IC and then releasing back through the turbo/air filter. My 96 does it and its sounds kinda cool.

mine did it before i put the ic on but i guess it did get a little louder afterwards, the most noticeable is after i put the air filter on

Joe it just dawned on me what device you were thinking of. I think you were thinking of a blow off valve that turbo gassers use. since they have a throttle plate they need another place for the pressure to bleed. But yes my truck did it before the IC install too but it is louder with the IC.

wow a ton of posts since last nite, been a long day at work, tj yup thats what i'm talking about, the ricer blow off valve sound, i got a ton of looks at work today and i had one guy who swore i had a banks turbo on my truck, i had to pop the hood to shut him up

yeah mine makes that noise too, it sounds awesome, i had 2 friends of mine in the truck one day and i floored it comin out of a turn (just to get a lil sideways 
) and when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd they were like "holy **** that was cool!" and i said "what the lil drift back there?" they were like "no that sound"
