wow... i wonder why his won't do it. all i have done to mine is a DIY intake, 10k mod, fpr shimmed to 62psi, and 5" stacks. i still have the pancake downpipe though. mine does it with the stock DP and loud enough for my brother to hear it over his straight piped dodge w/ 5" stacks on it. i was about 60 feet away when he said that he barely heard it.
Wait till we put your dp on Travis, it will sound even better. And sorry Lane, but my truck did it too before the intercooler. I can attest to strokin'_tatsch's turbo sound. We put bullhaulers on it the other night, and it sounds awsome.
yeah it is... you have more mods than me too. what kind of boost #'s are you getting??? i wonder if you might have a little bit of a boost leak that would keep it from doing it... i really don't know so i'm going out on a limb here.
oh god! afe intake!? i hope thats not the one with the chromed pipe and plastic box that has the rubber gasket on top? another buddy had one on his sd and we put the factory filter minder o and it would suck in about half way on 1 fullthrottle pass, junk, i'll make sure it is the afe on monday and try to get a pic of it
Speculation, the automatic helps to maintain peak boost, also the e4od has a one fewer gear making the gears taller. With that said, the sudden rpm drop of the engine between shifts on the E4OD will allow the backup of boost through the filter.
Now, not saying it can not be possible the the 5 speed, maybe load the engine up with an achieved boost pressure and try releasing the fuel pedal and shifting in neutral at the same time. Maybe then it will do this but its not getting you anywhere. Guessing the 5 speed is to closs ranged of a trans but could possible be done with some very quick shifting and maybe a few more mods to get higher boost pressures.
I have liked the filter setup and I don't think it makes too much noise. It is the one with the silver painted 4" pipe and metal box that filter sits in. The filter gauge is mounted in the pipe with the provided hole. I have been thinking about replacing the filter since it is several years old. Not sure which one to get though. Don't think 6637 will fit in the enclosure.
yes it does, on top of the fenderwell and just behind the battery where the original one was. I put a 6637 in the wife's and didn't look to see if it would fit, probably should have. I am looking at getting one like the one I have now so it can be washed and reused and if I find a good cheap one I may put one on the wife's after the 6637 gets dirty.
