shocks

OK I just bought a set of Bilstein shocks for the F350

I would like to hear from another Bilstein owner as to which direction the shock boot is.

The ones I have oriente the boot on the lower portion for the fron shocks.
one bushing has a metal sleeve tha other does not.

All the shocks I have installed before have the boot on the up end.

thanks a bunch!

I do not have Bilstein's (yet) but I do know that the boot goes down.

Thanks Texas... that is how I was going to install them since the bushing are set up that way. Just not used to them that way.

They were boot up for the wifes Grand Cherokee..lol

would be nice if they had slipped in a little picture with them.. just to make you feel better..

I'll let you know how I like them.

I have a dually, so there may be a difference.
Front = boot down
Rear = boot up

I noticed this question come up in the past. My Bilsteins would only fit one way because of the different size bolts.

It really depends which model you have. The lowest base model bilstein 5100 shock is designed to run boot up. The 5125 (I'm guessing yours) is designed to run boot down. I have some friends that were debating with me that all mono-tube designed shocks are made to run either direction but I feel much harder dampening with the boot down on my toyota. Good luck!

MINe went in Boot down.

and

YES! so far I love them. Took a quick 1 mile drive down my one lane road. The truck stays on the road now at speed.

However in the process of install. I noticed that I ow have a broken leaf in the rear. My local spring shop said this might happen to me due to the 4" blocks. They have a replacement set the eliminates these blocks.

I hope my truck does nto turn into my CJ Jeeps that I off -road
