Mount them so the Bilstein name is right side up. My fronts are boot down, yes water could college inside, but it could if the boot was on top too. With the boot down there isn't water and other crap sitting on the moving seal.

The mount on the top and bottom are different. One end has just a bushing, the other end has a bushing with a rolled steel sleeve in it. On the fronts, the boots were down. On the rear, the boots were up.
