I need a 1/2 inch, left hand, FINE threaded bolt, actually i need 3 of them for a tool i am making. It is puller for a non Ford truck (Plymouth brake drum) and i am having a tough time. Tried all the bolt supply places in S'toon, couple places in P.A. and no luck. A machinest could cut me some but 2 to 3 weeks and i need to pull these drums ASAP.
Another alternative is to beg or borrow a tapered brake drum puller......anyone have ????
I tried ebay all winter but i wasn't dropping $130 on a tool i could make. Well i might pay that today but not then.

Are you near any aircraft parts stores?
If you didn't need a fine thread, a wheel lug bolt might work. Buick used lug bolts for years, right = right hand thread; left = left hand thread.
Bolt Supply 931-1960 (I talked to Rob) in Saskatoon can obtain this in a threaded rod, approximately 2 days away.
If you like I could pick it up and throw it on the bus if they can`t do that for you.
Are you "connected" or a "made man" Morris ?
I called there today and someone there said nothing in stock (obviously) and it would be 2 weeks. Well Yorkton is fast approaching and i can't wait too long.
I will call them again tommorow, or i'll call you.
I also at the end of the day called Arnie Holmes of Specialty Cars in P.A., he has some L/H threaded wheel bolts from said vehicle. I got to thinking i could weld a conventional 1/2" bolt to the head of the unconventional bolt, then it will thread into the brake drum and be long enough to put a conventional nut on the welded end AND PULLLLLLLL.
Arnie is a very talented guy, sometimes so is Shaune
Well this thread is done.
I got 3 L/H bolts from Arnie in P.A. and am welding them to 3 longer bolts so the puller will work now. Should be doing that tonight but need to go gto sleep instead tonight.
Morris, Rob could have gotten me L/H threaded rod, 3 feet for $55 where i needed 9 inches but thanks for the help anyway.
