stuck brake drum
I replaced the parking brake cables going to the drums last summer and a few months ago they stopped holding. I went to pull the drums off today to see if I could figure out what was going on and the drums wouldn't budge. I could get the passenger side adjuster to move but the drum wouldn't come off. The drivers side adjuster won't spin but I can push it to the left or right about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.
I tried beating the tar out of the drums to get them off and sprayed down the lug bolts and around the center. I don't want to hit the drum to hard and chip , crack, or brake it.
Any one have any ideas?
Or any one help me with why the parking brake would not be working? The shoes were changed around or at the same time as the cables. When I press the parking brake pedal I can push it to the floor and the truck will still roll.

Seriously. It's the only way they're going to come off. Aim for the lip that runs around the outside of the drum.
It sounds like there are some serious brake issues going on there anyway.
I would assume you put the adjusters on backwards or on the wrong side if one moves that much and you have no parking brake.
The easiest thing is a brake drum puller, barring that.
Remove the parking brake cables from the adjuster that is in the middle of your truck.
Grind the anchors off from the back of the backing plate without digging too far into the backing plate. Then hit the drum towards the inside of the truck, then towards the outside. Do this a few times. Once you get a crack showing between the drum and backing plate you should be able to get a pry bar in between and pry the drum away enough to pop the springs off the anchor at the top.
If not, you can get a sawzall in between the drum and backing plate and cut the shoe springs off.
One other thing you can do is drill a 3/8 hole through the backing plate where the "cap" to the self-adjuster would be. Then pry it or pound it off the shoe. This will usually let you get the bottom of the drum off. Then you can pound the shoes in with a big hammer and pry bar to push the shoes in from the drums.
