Anyone have more info on the Hypertech power programmer III? Wonder if it is truly a programmable chip whereas you can program your own shift points etc.?

No you cannot program it. It does increase shift points. The high speed shut off is also not elimated. I will get you a phone number to a chip company that offers 2 different chips, both increase the shut off to 120mph. One chip is worth 50 hp and another will give 70 hp

I would not go with the hypertech. For one they are mass produced and the catch phrase is up to. So they normally don't even go as high as they say. Also if you go to thier internet site they have a performance chart with a supposed dyno of the new powerstroke before the programmer and after. With their programmer they were saying that it dyno tested at about 440 ftlbs of torque max. I called hypertech and asked them how that could be when the truck already puts out over 500 ftlbs of torque. The person I spoke to said that Ford fudged the numbers but yet if you look at other web sites for performance chips that dyno the trucks before and after they are close to what Ford puts out. So in short don't go with hypertech!
