i have a 6.0 in me EX, a few mods and i am getting almost 475 to 485 hp and around 800 Ftlbs torque. Now everyone who has ridden in my truck says the same thing...."nothing this big should get to THAT speed, THAT quick".. its also fun to destroy those annoying little imports as they get on the interstate and completley wind out every gear to 9000 rpm.
Point is to get enjoyable power and better mileage (18mpg with an enclosed trailer) you dont have to spend 2500 dollars.
i had a v10 f250 and no i dont know what i was thinking and was getting around 10 mpg. driving about 60k a year was really costing me which is why i switched to deisel....on a good note i abused that truck till it turned 265000 miles and NEVER had a drivetrain prolem. (when i say abused i mean 8000 to 11000 miles between oil changes, one trans service.)
The gas mileage apart, it speaks volumes for the V10.
I personally never regretted it but I wouldn't mind one day getting a second one in Diesel and hop the shi* up outta it and then go race rice burners. That would be fun to see their faces
Superchargers add around 50% more power. You'd be looking at 465HP/625+lb. ft. / speed still depends o nthe computer / Qm times and the like see a huge drop. Depends on the truck's actual weight. A 3-4 second drop in 0-60 is not uncommon. Engine life can remain basically the same. The bottom end of the V10 is very, very strong.
No. 500HP in a diesel costs you $6K for the diesel and $2K in hop up parts.
You are out of your mind!!!!! Any one who has owned both (gas and diesel) excursion's will tell you that the diesel will rock the v10. Never mind the price for the diesel up grade, I get 80% better MPG with my diesel X. That alone pay's to have diesel. with a programer alone I can achieve more torque than a v10 with a supercharger. And all I have to do is plug it in to the obd port. If I knew what I know now I would have never EVER bought my first X in the v10. Once I got my 05 diesel I felt like such a fool. IMO any who purchase's a v10 doesnt know much about a diesel. I know I sure didnt.
