Fastest Excursion?
What it actually sounds like from a person who isn't being diesel biased (everyone else but you) is just a simple fact. If you want a 450-500HP diesel (6.0L for example) you'll need to FIRST buy the diesel and then the associated hop-up parts. Simple fact. Non-biased.

I should point out that the "hottest" tuner (in terms of HP increase) I found was 130HP. I didn't look too very hard. That puts crank HP at around 455. So to really get 500 CHP you'd probably have to get a custom tune plus other performance parts such as those pointed out by S_Harvey.
George, a supercharged V10 will not get the same mileage as now on average. One because you'll use the extra power and two because the added air you force in will need more fuel to mix with it. 91+ octane fuel I should add. there are certain situations like high altitude towing where it perform better. Unloaded highway mileage can improve, too.
Good superchargers aren't made for the 2v V10 anymore. Whipple. Kenne Bell etc. are good. Good = twin screw. Okay = centrifigal. Paxton and a couple others still make them. They are more for high RPM boost. Twin screws make boost right off idle but have more parasitic losses. Anyway...I'm getting off track.
A SC will (used to?) run around $4500-$5200. Installation cost varies but it should take someone reasonably handy about 5 hours. Most folks will tell you that it is fairly straight forward, if not a bit tedious.
You couldn't find anything about Excursion racing because people don't buy 3 1/2 ton SUVs to race.
IEH, gears will certainly affect QM times. How much depends on the driver....IMHO. I don't know if the percentage formula works. eg. if you use 15% higher (numeriocally) gears, will your performance times go down 15%. I doubt it but...
I really have no idea what a SC V10 Ex would turn in a QM. Stock it takes a week and a half so it'd be safe to say about 4 days for a blown one.
The 7.3L is a different animal for getting big HP/TRQ than the 6.0L. Lots of mods need to be done as S_Harvey, again, pointed out.
George, save your dough and be content with what you got. how many times have you been challenged by a kid in hopped up Honda? If you woulda beat him would you have made any money? No? Then why bother?

Thanks and one day if I get rich, I might do it. Would be funny as hell though..

When I registered for the board, "Stewart" was already taken, and I screwed up when I chose S_Harvey. I meant to choose Stewart_H, just like my registered name over at SVT Performance.
I asked at one time to have my name changed, but was denied.

Maybe if I post more, all y'all will remember to call me Stewart?

Stewart
Hell, I'll call you Stewart it's just that my memory is shot to hell

Besides, everytime I see your nickname, I think of Steve Harvey the comedian

Why dont you cancel this profile and start a new one and call it what you wanted?
If you do, let me know so I can change it in the Excursion meeting list.

LOL, now of course, I'm not OCD, but the colloquial usage of that term has become a common manner to explain when a person likes things in a certain order, or a certain way, and is uncompromising in changing it, especially when changing that order or way would not be a big deal for someone else...lets say, in this case, someone like you (since you suggested it).

Stewart
(and don't think ANY paid list
)My 03 limited 4x4 was about 42k (list was 52k IIRC) - at first I added a predator for about $400 (IIRC) from here?? and a turbo back exhaust for about $250 and dyno'ed @ 375 rwhp...
It's been proven the predator is not the peak hp gainer - the SCT has much more in it..
and haven't dyno'ed the 05 with it,
but again taking what I paid for the 4x4 Eddie Bauer with all options and basically stock with the $400 SCT and $55 walker muffler only
an 8.9 1/8th is doing rather well....

The PSD Excursion has an average RETAIL price of around $6,000 over the V10. Why is that so hard for some to grasp... That's being generous too! Go to KBB.com just for fun and do a V10 Eddie Bauer w/38K miles and a PSD Eddie Bauer w/38K. You'll find a $7,600+ suggested retail difference.
So, no; no assumptions. Just facts.
