Yep, It is going to suck my wallet dry! I've had this 2000 PDS F250 4x4 for almost three years no and have managed to keep it stock. I bought it with 62,000 miles and have had to do just the normal maintaining type things. It just turned over 100,000 miles and the fun is about to begin. I started with a sonnex kit for the trans, AFE stage II intake, and MBRP SS exaust. I just put the intake and exaust on today and have noticed turbo surge so an ATS 4" turbo housing is on the way. I have been sitting here reading all about the different mods people have come up with and done over the last couple years so hats off to you guys. There is some ingenious stuff to be had in these forums! I will be using some of them. Thanks to those who spend the time to write and tell about the issues that come up, It can be very confusing at times trying to do this stuff right.
One is a list of mods that have been done and the dates that they were installed.
The other is a list of mods to come.
For every line added to the first list two more lines get added to the second.
It never ends. Just store your bank info with ITP, DieselSite, PowerstrokeShop.com, Black Widow Diesel, Diesel Innovations, DP Tuner, BTS and the hundreds of others and live with the fact that you are hooked. I think I paid for Bob Riley's vacation this year. That's ok, what I got in return was fun for me and that's all that matters.
i wish i could get a DP Tuner right now but i have no money to even get my speedometer corrected plus i'm just starting college and my friends truck was stolen in nov. so i'm sketchy about doing too much to my truck.
Now that I have gotten a chance to drive the truck with the AFE stage II and 4" exaust for the weekend, I have noticed a nice change in how smooth it runs through the gears. Low end torque has greatly improved and passing on the freeway is a breeze. I caught myself doing 90 a couple of times and had to slow down. It also has not sucked down the usual fuel for the amout of miles I have gone. So far, I have been very happy with the mods and they have made it much more of a pleasure to drive (not quite the slug it once was). Mods done = AFE stage II w/pro guard 7, MBRP 4" SS exaust, Sonnax shift kit. Mods to come= ATS 4" turbo housing to cure turbo surge, DP switch (not sure what tunes yet), and some of those cool DYI mods. CCV mod soon, those boots are looking pretty ugly.
Posts like this makes me glad I'm finished sinking money into my mods
Finished?!? yeah right, One is never FINISHED sinking mod money into their truck. I think we have a case of denial here. Curtis, repeat after me, It is never enough, it is never enough.

How do you like the Sonnax kit?? I've been thinking about that one myself -- seems easy enough to do. I have a buddy (actually, it's my brother's friend that owns a shop) that's knows the A4OD/4R100 really well and he's been after me to tear into mine. Of course, he buckled and bought a D-Max, though. I need to get something done before it's too late -- I've only got ~70k on the truck, and maybe 5 or 6k with the DP. I don't drive it like I stole it or or tow anything (except very rarely), but I do get on it occasionally and it would be good to have that piece of mind.
