wouldn't one of the valve bodies be a better choice

I run the Sonnax kit.

With my tuner dialed up and my foot in it the trans shifts are smooth and crisp and the truck gets right on up there. With the tuner in the mid range positions and normal driving the shifts are a little too hard for my liking. It's hard to describe.

Am I happy with it? Yes, for the most part. I do think a BTS valve body would probably be the better route but I am going to run this set up for now.

I will probably be looking into having a Diesel Innovations transmission installed when the time comes. DI is going to start offering their own line of trannys and I have been talking to dave about it for the last month. They have a couple in the field now and so far so good. I got to drive one and the difference between mine and theirs is like night and day. That's probably a little ways off though.

With my predator at the 60hp setting where I always keep it, I can mash the go pedal and it will redline, do the skip thing a couple of time change gears and keep on going. I try not to push it that hard 'cause i don't know if that's bad or not, but I was wondering, does Jody do anythign for the redline? I don't want to push it high, just a little further so I can stay on it and shift gears without the very slight pause

For the $$ spent, I think the sonnax kit was a great investment. The trans used to be a real slush box. When I first had it put in it shifted pretty hard....then it settled in to a nice solid shift without giving you whiplash. The only thing about it is that it will make the trans build some pressure so when you drive easy it takes a while to wind out before it will shift, not a big deal, just took a little getting used to.

did you do any other upgrade mods to the tranny?
I had the MAG HYTEC tranny pan installed as well synthetic ATF
I plan to add a 6.0 cooler and maybe an inline filter
I have the BULLYDOG tricumulator upgrade in my trans, works great!
I was lucky, when bought my truck used, the first thing I had replaced under warranty was the /C and solenoids. The transmission just had 80K miles, I now have 116K

The only upgrade was a sonnax kit. I figure I only tow 4000# every so often and then take it pretty easy....so doing anything else at this point is for not. Besides if the trans goes south my wife will have to let me get a new one, right? That could possibly be a really nice one, yes? I have had the fluid changed twice in the last 40,000 miles. The first time I had it done there were a few metal shavings in the pan, after that the sonnax kit went in and I have never had a problem.
