This is a two part report. First, after getting my 4in. MKO Exaust I experienced approx .8 miles per gallon increase. This is on top of my 1 mpg increase with the 6337 Kwik intake. Second, my milage was about the same towing my 7k trailer, but the up hill towing performance was a huge surprize. I had towed this same rout with this trailer a some of the hills on it would cause my truck to down shift and have a hard slow tow up hill. This time on some of the same hills not only was I not slowing down and down shifting, I was actually accelerating and a one time I looked down and I was going 70mph up hill. Needless to say major improvement. Now to get my DP tuner in and a wicked wheel, and everything else. Just PMSing
SWEEET, can't wait to get mine ordered, that is next on my list for sure! I'll be interested to see how this '00 will pull the hills (or what we have around here). Glad to hear it worked out good for ya, can't believe ya didn't get any more mpg than that.
The mpg is also driving avg. 70 to 75 mph., not towing of course. But I was happy with that. If you do your exhaust whatch for areas where it may hit or rub. You will need to indent you pipes in these areas. I did not do this and now have vibrating noises and will have to take care of it as soon as I get a chance. Also if you take you trans cross member support and your trans skid plate off it makes the job a lot easier. Also whatch your shock to exhaust clearance. Good luck and enjoy. It sounds awesome.
Thanks for the tips, I've used MBRP 4" kits on some other rigs but haven't had time and money to put one on this new rig yet, we've only had it a couple of months, but it's comin', oh yes, it's comin'...
