what would you do? window leaks

My '93 E350 rear side van windows are leaking at the top and starting to stain & loosen the headliner.

Any of ya'll have suggestions or dealt with this before? The way the seal is recessed behind the glass makes me think that silicone may be hard to get back in there.

Not sure if it can be done unless you try from the inside or take the window out. by any chance do you have a raised roof? on my van i noticed during the rainstorms that the interior was flooded found the headliner and the wheel well cover soaked so i was thinkin window but when i looked on the outside for some reason i pulled the black trim off the raised top and found 4 screws backed out 1/4 inch and when i tightened them found every screw was loose. i think i may have discovered the air leaks jsut an idea.

Have had the same problem, but it took me awhile to realize where it was leaking. First I suspected the high mount brake light, then the roof to side seams. I did not like the expensive estimate the glass shop gave me to R&R the glass to replace the sealing adhesive strip. I did the quick & dirty temporary fix on this silver Econoline & used silver duct tape across the top edge, gapping the area where it leaked. Since then I've replaced the duct tape several times & never had another drop of rain leak in. Now I'm trying to figure out how to remove the ancient duct tape residue when I have it fixed right.

Goo Gone worked wonders for me whenever I have adhesive residue to deal with. I find that the dollar store sells them.

guess tis question is kind of for me eh? i dont knwo if your asking in general or mine but in general i think they cut the roof off but leave an over lap then fit the fiberglas top on and drive sheet metal screws all around the perimeter i think there has to be over 100 every 2 inches. i think they put a gasket material or sealant before putting the top on. then cover the screws with a rubber strip all around. thats how mine is though mine is a former wheel chair van with extended rear doors.

Cool, thanks for explaining that. I'm kinda tempted to do this to my van but it would be expensive.

might not be that bad you can get a new ones for 700-1200 plus 400 shipping or from the junk yard. then its a matter of cutting your roof off and putting this one on LOL i talk like thats it LOL guess if ya have a way to suspend the top and air toolr or torch to cut the top off it would be a breeze

I have a shop to do it but its just the deal of getting the parts and doing it. Besides my van's body is not the best to put that much time and money into.
