Fixed all the leaks on my e350 that im going to convert to a camper van except for a rear leak.
Durring a storm I pinpointed the leak to a rear door window seal.
Was going to just squeeze some silicone around the window from the outside but wanted to do it right and just had to pull the window. I didnt realize it was butyled in.
All the dirt and grime from around the windows is now embedded in the old butyl which is a bleep to get off. The foam weather strip thats embedded in the goo is also shot.
Should I just scrape off as much as I can from the window and door and lay a fat bead of butyl ("butyle flex" in cualk tube) in there and screw her in or does a foam strip need to be in there too?
