Probably true. I saw a lifted F-150 4x4 SCrew yesterday with shiny 22 inch wheels and wide 40 series street tires. Was blue, had Michigan plates on it.
I recently came across a electricians F350, with late model F150 badges, the guy wasn't around to ask what the story was behind it.
Back in the early 90's I was looking at a used lifted Toyota pick-up with "DIESEL" badges on the hood, bot my buddy & I questioned the engine in it & the salemans swore it was a diesel, even when asked about the plug wires.
I rebadged my truck when the rear end got whacked. I got a new take off bed from an 07 and just decided to make it different and put the newer style badges on the fender instead of changing the one on the tailgate.

But, you didn't change it to an F-650 or whatever, so it's just updating your badging.
Around here people will buy an r titled 6 banger and fix it up with cobra bumbers hood and badges then put dual exhaust on it and cruise like they are bad....What is funny is that they never except a race unless it is against a stock 4 door honda or they try to race a grandma getting groceries....The worst part is that it sounds nothing like a cobra or even a v8 for that matter
