hi all i need to no if this numbers are fe heads c8ae-h , i no they are 1968 what i need to no is if they will match up to a intake manifold i have d5te-9425-ta , i would be lost with out up info and i my old truck would be in the junk yard
That's a FT intake. The FT heads and intake have the heat crossover in the center like your intake. The C8 heads and std FE heads the crossover port is farther back. You might be able to block them. I've never used or ran that combo but I have just blocked the std FE crossover. look at the heads and intake and see if it's possible. I don't see much FT stuff anymore so can't say for sure if you can or not. But I don't think so. I'd also be concerned with the port match and take a good look there also. If you can find a way to block both and the port match is cool you should be ok tho.
Hi ok i no now that i have a miss match intake to the heads
if i get a edelbrock manifold this will fix this , true , but what will it do to the motor s torgue and horse power has this is in a 10 ton dump truck has this was a stock 330ft when i started now a 360 with c8ae-h heads and maybe a new edelbrock intake ,and will the dist,s still fit in the edelbrock manifold ? i was looking for more torque than the old 292 which was stock in the truck , i just spent lots on this motor so far i don,t want to stuff it up now thank s for your help with this , has it getting to me now that the 292 is tashed
Edelbrock intakes were designed to bolt on to stock heads. So everything will bolt on that is supposed to. There are a few exceptions to that which if you order the intake will be specified through whoever you order the part from. If you order it through summit or jegs you can call and confirm the part fits before you spend a dime.
so if i go with the edelbrock manifold the dist ,s will have to be changed to won,t it , it,s just if im ordering from summit ill get both ? i have to be sure but
Remember the FT blocks have a larger pilot bushing (FT.516 vs FE .453) the bottom of the distributor sits in. So if you decide to order a std FE or msd etc...dizzy you'll need to swap that bushing. Unless it has been changed already..... If not I beleive Ford still carries them. Ford part number is C4TZ-12367-A and should be available. If not DSC motorsports sells them. $22-33 depending on the vendor. Then you want to check the oil pump shaft size in relation to the oil pump. Be sure they are both compatable. Just something to be aware of. I know the 391 blocks used the larger dizzy shaft bushing but not 100% postive in the 330. But think it's the same regardless.
Hi all just letting you no i went with the edelbrock i just order it from sumit they say 3-7 days airfreight i bet this will cost me intake was $296.80 us about $350,86 au the guys over here wanted $595.oo over her no freight and they all say about a week if im lucky .
Hi all thank again for all your help with this i would be lost with out ford enthusiasts , the edelbrock is on it way to australia , i will check out the longer shalt in the distrlbutor and the bushing the guy rebuilding it say he will make the bushing for the distrlbutor guess he can make the shalf to then
lifted the 292 out today with the excavator to easy
Hi all just one or two more things , will the changes ( heads +intake ). change the power ? and in which way , will the rev range change ? will the heads change the compression ? what kind a horsepower ,rev this not what i started to build in my mind it was a little old 330ft now i think its a 360
Refresh me a bit on the build. Was 330FT and now a 360 correct? What pistons were used? Flat top, dish?
The old FT heads had large 78-81cc chambers. The C8 heads chambers are 68-72 cc's
Google search "engine math" and you should get some sites with calculators to plug your numbers into. That will give you a general idea. Try here if you can't find any.
