I know another 390 build with a lot of neewbie questions . My engine started out as a 360 truck engine that along the ways was bored .030 over. I am now looking to make it a 390 I found a fresh crank # 2U .030/.030, and a set of C7AE-B reconditioned rods.
I have this cam with springs and retainers to match.
Lunati 00053LK:
Bracket Master II Camshaft Hyd.Flat Tappet RPM 1500–5000 Adv.Dur. 300 Int./Exh. Valve Lift .514 Int./Exh. Lobe Angle 112 Deg. HYDRAULIC, Good idle. Very strong low– to midrange torque and power.
I have C8AH heads
I am using Hooker Headers
I have a Holley 650
Electronic Ignition
2.5" exhaust with Flowmasters
What pistons should I use with this cam ? I am looking at the KB 150040

The Truck is a 72 F250 4x4 with 4.10 gears and a np435
It will be used mostly for hauling light loads and small trailers
I run Speed Pro's. They are a little heavy but work good. If you are "BIG" into racing then a lighter piston would be best! I really like Diamond Pistons. If not then run the Speed Pro's. Best BANG for the buck.... "JMO"
