I have an opportunity to buy a 1997 F250 Super Crew with a 7.3 PSD. I am learning just from looking where to post that there are 2 forums for the 7.3 - 1994.5 - 1997 and 1998 - whenever. What is the difference? Should I bother to buy a 97 with 151000+ miles?
on the first link there is a used truck buying advice section that is worth reading.
as far the two different forums the 94.5 to 97 is for old body style trucks and the 99-03 forum is for superduty trucks. the engine are pretty much the same except the turbo's, a few sensors and the fuel system details (injectors, pump, HPOP)
That is a good idea! I think we need to compile a good buying a used truck thread then ask cookie if he could make it a sticky. I will ask cookie about it and see if he can do that.

You ar ecorrect there was no 250 or 350 HEAVY DUTY built in '98. There was however a LIGHT DUTY F250 in '98 but it was nothing more than a heavy half ton. It didn't even have the option to have a diesel.
Why isn't there a "sticky" about this? It comes up a couple times a week.
I didn't search, but I did look through the 1st 3 pages!
The guy informs me that he won't be back until Friday. He's asking $9800, but KBB.com and edmunds.com says $8500 tops. I might offer the $8500 if it looks as good as the pic! Then I can remove the "other brand daily driver"!!
