460 oil pans

Is there any such thing as a rear sump 460 pan? Just installed the 460 in my 53 F350 - which has a Chev C30 IFS. It seems that the folks at Chev neglected to make sure that the pan on a 460 clears the tierod. I've got about 1/2" clearance but would feel better if there was more.

80's ford 4x4 trucks should have what you need for oil pump, pickup, and pan.

My guess is there is a rear sump pan given all the vehicles they went into. That being said, you might try Moroso who might have applications for lowered car ground clearance where they kick out the sides to retain oil capacity. You'd also need a different pick-up tube.

All 1975/91 Econolines with a 460 * have a rear sump oil pan/pickup tube. Make sure you get the special adapter to attach the pickup tube = D9HZ-6345-A.

* All 1975/91 Econolines regardless of engine size have a reverse sump pan: 300/302/351M/351W/400/460

I bought a new rear sump pan (genuine FOMOCO) for my 460 from a dealer on ebay. You'll need a new pump and pickup when you change over. The rear sump pan also has a side access dipstick...mine exited directly into the header!
Just when you think you have a solution you find that you also have more problems! Good Luck....

I have Ford Racing M-6675-A460 - Ford Racing Engine Swap Oil Pans - JEGS however be WARNED. the dipstick exits right into the header and the gasket that comes with this pan has metal washers in the rubber.. you would think it would be a good thing. however the washers are too small for the four larger bolts. Every thing else worked perfectly... I suggest buy the pan.. weld the dipstick shut, get a cork gasket, and modify your original front dipstick ... it sounds like alot but this would be the perfect setup for around 160 bucks total....
