so I filled the tank today and it shut off at 24gal which was only 1/2 gal shy of the filler tube. I already had about 8 gal in there since the harpoon mod. I love that it fills to the top now with no prblems WHAT A TIME SAVER!!!! So to my question I filled it to the top of the filler neck and notice it bubbling so I looked under and saw fuel flowing out of the top of the tank is this normal or is there a relief on the top or something, maybe I should just fill til it stops and not overdo it? any thoughts on this?
no I actually went back and tightened everything when I goofed and had to redo everything, I did notice on the tank, that there are 2 spout deals on the top of the tank that were capped with a rubber pice of some kind!
Those 2 spouts that are capped off would be where I'd look first. When I did the mod, I noticed my two spout caps where not all that tight and had evidence of leaking. I went ahead and put some hose clamps on those rubber caps.
Problem is, your going to have to drop the tank again to investigate. I'm betting the leak will be very obvious. I bet you end up putting a couple of hose clamps on those spouts caps. I would not fix the problem by not filling it up all the way. That would drive me crazy knowing I had a leak. Hope you find it. Mark
