Dent Diesel fuel filler neck question...

7.3 IDI here wondering if any of you are having trouble filling your tank with Diesel? Mine fills at such a slow rate it would be faster to fill 5 gal cans and then put the Diesel in....yes, that slow....would it help to add new diesel filler necks?

What I mean by filling slowly is that the Diesel from the pump is coming out at such a sppeed it creates froth and or a splashing effect that kicks the pump off the fuel hose.

I have tried barely pressing the handle to fill at a snail's pace...but it still creates a froth or a full feeling and the filler pump kicks off.

Anyone experienced this?? Any ideas on how to fix it? I mean if I was to fill one tank from empty to full it would probably take me 45 min or so....

Ideas?? I have a buddy that said he has a bull nose Diesel he had to put a logging chain under the back drivers side tire when filling to get it to fill normal....

I have 79 oem filler necks etc... 90 IDI

79 F250 4x4 7.3 IDI

Thank you in advance

When I fill mine I only insert the nozzle just enough for it to stay in. Then put the fill lock on the first click and I have no problems. If I put the nozzle all of the way in the it doesn't allow the air pressure to adjust and causes issues. I did replace my filler and vent hose but they are the direct replacements from lmc.

Is your vent line clear and workng? Mine fills just fine when I set the pump like I described. And mine is the stock setup dumping into a 38 gallon aftermarket tank.
