I have a 46 truck project that I am finally getting back too. I plan on hanging a custom built 13 gal tank in the frame near the rear end and keeping the stock tank under the seat. I have been trying to figure out options for filling the second tank. Since I don't want another filler spout sticking out other than the original. I have narrowed it to two possibilities. One is a flush mount filler in the bed but because of the way I am planning to do the bed I'm not thrilled cutting into it. The other, that I am leaning towards, is to fill the original tank and transfer fuel from it to the reserve tank there-bye eliminating the second filler spout. I really don't mind if it takes a few extra minutes at the station. Has anyone here tried this and if so what did you use and what was the outcome? Feeding the engine from the 2nd tank isn't an issue but getting fuel to that 2nd tank is.
