Question Off Road package questions

We have a '00 Ranger w/ Off Road package. What makes up the package other than skid plates, 4.10 rear end and 16" tires? Was a LSD included or optional?
Thanks for the info!

Should have included a limited slip, don't know if you get anything else besides what you mentioned.

LSD was standard and still is on off road package. Now the Level II comes with bilstein shocks, front skid plate and Torsen gear driven LSD rear. The grab handles on the A pillars may have been part of the package. You also get those cool stickers on the side of the truck . others will add of course

Sorry guys, but the limited slip was not standard on the '00 OffRoad package. It was an extra charge option and many were made without l/s, including the one I had.

The OffRoad package also (at least usually) included the power equipment package.

Fred is referring to the FX4 package, which started in '02. In '02 there was only one version and it included all the good stuff. In 03+ there were 2 versions, the FX4 OffRoad and the FX4 Level II. The lvl 2 came w/ all the stuff Fred mentioned, but the FX4 OffRoad had a regular l/s diff and had better shocks than regular 4x4s, but not Bilstiens. By '03, the FX4s all included the power equipment package, leather steering wheel & remote keyless entry, but lots of that was not included in the '00 OffRoad.

I'm so embarassed!! What self respecting manufacturer would not have LS as standard equipment for off road use.
Snowdog: What does your door sticker say. There's a link in the tech section for decoding the door sticker. That'll tell you what you have in the diff.
I just got done braggin' about how I was able to get the FX4 with all the powertrain goodies, 'oh sh#t handles" and map pockets without the power equipment options to a freind, but obviously forgot that this has been an evolution in Ford marketing. I honestly beleived that an off road editon would include LS rear diff. I hope the executive that decided to make it an option is flippin' burgers for a living now, hee hee. Who in their right mind would take an open diff off road?????
I would. But then again I'm crazy, but not stupid enough not to bring a freind along with lockers to pull me out. lol

BTW, I just love my leather wrapped stearing wheel.

The Level II also has the forged Alco wheels and 31x10.50x15 BFG A/T KOs along with the 8.8" rear with 31 spline axles(over the standard 28 spline) and Torsen gear driven LSD, Bilstein HD gas shocks, triple skid plates, and in 04 they had real stainless stell tow hooks in front which in 05 were changed to silver painted standard tow hooks.
