I'm in the process of ordering a complete new brake system from mid-fifty. I'm going to go with discs up front and a mannual disc/drum MC. My question is has anyone used or does anyone know if I can use the stock pre-bent brake lines. Diane from MF said the dual master does bolt to the stock location but does sit back a little further than the stock MC. Now thinking I have to bend my own lines.
We bent our own 56 brakes lines and it wasn`t pretty. It`s very hard to get the sharper bends to get i tlooking like the orginal.
But sometimes you have to do what you have to do....
I have installed the underfloor booster and dual master cyliinder on my 56. It is the stock drum/drum though.
I left the stock lines. They were new a few years ago. The PO installed them. I don't know if he purchased them pre-bent or if he did them.
I purchased pre-flared lines in the length I needed and formed them myself (today) to meet up with the existing ones. They may not be pretty, but this is a driver, not a show truck. I need a couple more fittings and it will be done.
Thanks guys, Looks aren't to critical at this point since my goal is to just have a safe driver. Thanks for the pre-bent idea Brian I totally forgot about those since everyone is usually talking about flaring their own.
