all done. i used the tools from auto zone but i had to hit the nut with a hammer and long screw driver to loosen it up. after that, smooth sailing until....i put it back together and it was leaking like crazy from the thermostat housing. i had to take the alternator and its braket back off to find out when i replaced the thermostat it slid down out of its resting place. i wanted nothing more than to blow it up 
but i redid that and buttoned her up and she is working fine. thanks for the input.

falkor don't feel bad had wp go out last week and after putting a new one on and filled full of water and antifreeze then it started leaking so off it cam and got another and the same thing so contacted a Friend and he said sometimes they have to heat up before they seal up good so i tried this and it stopped leaking showed me something
