I've used both Hypertech and Superchips. First was the Hyp....used it for a week and returned it for the SC's.....thought I like it, but after awhile I didn't like putting 91 octane in for the towing setting. I tested both with the SC and with out and the truck works better....(atleast for towing) without a programmer. After 1 year I realized I had waisted $400....now I got an expensive box with a tuner inside.

Don't get me wrong....I like the tuner it has the different octane settings, but the towing setting recommends 91 octane when towing. If I don't use 91 the truck pings. Maybe its just me, but I don't want my truck thinking its going to get high octane gas everytimme I go fill-up. Plus I can't really tell a difference in towing with and with out the tuner. The shifting is a lot firmer and it has a little more gettie-up and go, but with gas at $3+ I'm driving like an OLD man.

I understand what you mean wfof250v10. I havent towed anything very heavy to really test my tuner. I just hear everyone complaining that tuners dont give their trucks enough power. People dont understand that 20 to 30hp(which is what tuner deliver) is not going to have your truck doing wheelies. You gotta take em for what they are. The kind of power most people expect from these tuners only comes from super chargers, turbos, or nitrous. That why the (turbo) diesels can generate over 100hp with the tuners. You know what I mean. Also like I said I went from 11mpg to 14 but anyway if I was worried about the price of gas I wouldnt be driving a V10.
