I have had my sights on the Banks Ottomind. Has anyone had any luck with this. There are so many. I like the safety features of the ottomind to include it does not alter the computer. My ultimate goal like many others is a little better MPG along witha few more ponies. One thing I am not sure of is if the Ottomind adjusts shift points. Any personal recommendations. I will be towing from Alaska to Florida. Max tow wieght 6K. I have an 03 6.0 with 42k

this is going to turn in a "everyone runs sct for a reason" thread. but yea...everyone runs sct xcal with custom tunes for a reason. ha. you might get 2-3 recommendations for banks with about 10-15 for sct xcal with custom tunes from spartandieseltech.com

You don't want that tuner man, Double is right. I highly doubt it'll increase line pressure so your tranny could quite end up toast. And if you're worried about if Ford would be able to notice if you've had the tuner...if there was a problem and they had to pull your heads....they'd know.

Yes and No. I no longer have a warrenty. Obviously Banks is not the perferred. i am a new PSD owner. I truely do not like the lag in power and shift points between 30 and 55 MPH. Sparten tunes are a bit pricy but if they are worth it I'm in. Too many horror stories about engine failures due to Tunes. I honestly believe some of these failures could have been prevented through good routine maintenance. Plain and simple i want the best. Thats why i bought a FORD!

Noway..you can get perfectly safe tunes. They'll help with a little power and some improved economy. SCT isn't THAT expensive. It's just there are a lot of people that have tried them all....ie...Banks, Edge, Quadzilla, Bullydog and weren't happy or their rig died....a lot will tell you to get a custom tuned SCT. That's what I'll get when I can afford it.

Yeah, turbo back. Cat delete will make it sound sweet and get rid of the lag you might be talking about. Try xcalII or xcalII(I think Spartan has a sale on xcalIII). You will NOT be able to monitor EGT with this programmer so you will have to get mechanical gauges or an electronic display. I think doubledee has a Commander. I bet he'd send you pics if you asked nicely.

haha nothing I haven't even ran any of spartan's tunes. I already have some good tunes thansk to innovative diesel and don't have enough money to buy other tunes just to try them out. maybe someday. what kind of gauges are you thinking about getting?
