V10 Tuning - Chip or Programmer?

I was wondering what you guys (and/or girls) experience is with chips and/or tuners. I have the Banks PowerPack (headers, 3.5" Monster Exhaust, intake) on my 2001 V10 F250. However, in a rush to have the kit and a little short on change, i opted not to get the additional OttoMind chip. I am now considering either buying the OttoMind (around 400 bucks). However, this is in the price range of power programmers. i was wondering if id get better performance from a programmer. I like the Predator Programmer for the additional feature of the DTC retrieval and live data monitoring. With the mods i have, which would be best? is there a better chip or programmer that any of you are experienced with? thanx for any help i can get!

p.s. where can i find bigger injectors and throttle body?

superdutymj,

To my knowledge, the Predator is not available yet for the V10. I currently have the Superchips Programmer and love it, but I'm not sure you can use it on a truck that has the mods you've put on.

You might want to post this question in the Chips/Programmers forum. The owner of this site sells these items, and he is a very knowledgeable resource. He will answer any questions you have in that forum.

Hope this helps.

Superchip tuner will work with his mods.I like the tuner better than a chip for convenience.

if you go with larger injectors youll need a custom burn. i dont think the superchip 1715 offers it. youll have to wait for the diablo.

You should not need larger inj's.I have a Dual 65mm BBK throttle body part #1711 and works great. Some have used an Accufab Throttle body.

I've got the new O'Reilly's Auto Parts catalog and they list a Predator in there with a part number and price, so it is out on the market. Has anybody used the OttoMind?

I am the only Banks dealer in Kansas. With that being said, I just HAD to install the Powerpack including the ottomind on my V10, And I like it alot. I suggest the ottomind because it is designed to be used in conjunction with the rest of the powerpack. I also have the Transcommand on mine, It made a big difference in the shifts as well.

I have been looking at doing a throttle body too, Have not decided between the accufab and the BBK. It will be one of those though. I will also get a better intake set-up when I get the throttle body, The Banks is not what I expected, Not too impressed there!!!! I don't plan to make any injector changes.

Let me know how you decide to go, I can make ya a deal on the ottomind.
