I need a chip and i dont know what type to get. I have a 93 f150 and need to know what tyrp of chip to get and the best one for the money. I also need something that will get me the most power and everthing.
thanks Rudy
Rudy; Superchips will most likely be one of the few companies to have a program for that year model truck. Like most chips, the Superchip will give you a 10% gain in horsepower and about 15% more torque. You will need to run premium fuel.
Thanks

The chips change the timing over stock. This is how they get their power. When they do this you need 93 octane to stop the pinging. Or look at it this way.. They change the timing to take advantage of premium fuel. There really isn't any other way to get power from a computer controled vehicle.
LAST EDITED ON 31-Aug-01 AT 03:20 AM (EST)[p]I have a 2000 Ford Expedition 4x4 with the 5.4L engine. I have a 2" lift w/33" tires. I have already installed the K&N supercharger air intake, and FLowmaster exhaust 3". I am looking to increase the power (It's still a real dog) without having to re-do the gears, which costs big $$. I tow about 4,000 lbs trailer occasionally. I was thinking about getting a chip, but am reading both good and bad feedback. Anybody have any suggestions? Good or bad? If so, what type is best for my truck? Also, can someone tell me what the difference is between a power chip and a module? Thanks for any help!
I have a 1995 F-150 2wd with a 302 or 5.0 automatic AODE. I have a couple of questions. First of all should I go with superchip diablo or hypertech? I know you previously recommended superchip. I'm also curious which chip is the most durable or will last the longest, as I plan to keep my truck for a long time. I'm running 31x10.5x15 tires stock is 235 75 15, and I changed the factory 3.08 rear axle to 3.55. Can any of these chips compensate for this. I know a hypertech programmer would work, but they dont make it for my year truck. The last question I have is... If I get the chip now and later add headers a bigger throttle body and mass air sensor and MSD ignition will the chip need to be reprogrammed??
I can't vouch for Hypertech, they make a fine product but I have no first hand experience.
Either the Superchip or Diablo should last the life of the truck.
We can code a chip for the different axle ratio, also for the throttle body and MAS. Custom code isn't needed for the headers. The chip can be reprogrammed at any time in future. Dealers charge a custom programming fee for the type of mods you're planning.
