I am looking for a Computer Chip that will work on my 1990 F-150 351W EFI 2WD truck. It seems to me that all of the chips are only for newer trucks.
I would like to install a new Computer Chip in my truck to get some extra HP. I am also thinking of getting a mass air conversion kit with an Edelbrock EFI Intake Manifold and some new injectors. I dont know what kind of mods I need in the chip to be able to use new EFI system if any at all, but I would still like to modify my computer to give me that little bit of extra HP I am looking for.
With Superchips we can program virtually any older EEC-IV Ford. With Diablo we can handle about half of them. If you go with mass air its going to require completely different programming and I recommend you replace the computer.
Why would I need a whole new computer? Could I not just reprogram the one I have? When you say that I should get a new computer, do you mean I should get one from a newer model truck?
If I replaced the computer with one from a 2000 F-150 I guess I could use some of the cool tools used to reprogram it.
