i have a 2002 escape 6 cyl. i believe the cps is acting up because it is stalling at idle with no codes. I replace the mass air flow sensor already. I had this happen on my 7.3 diesel and it is always the cps sensor. I just need to find out where it is located on the escape so i can replace it. thanks jeff
I would look into the IAC before the cam sensor. Stalling and hard starting would point towards fuel and air controls. Many times no codes will show with a bad IAC and a TPS would be my next guess.
i just replace the IAC last month. It was stalling when in reverse. I replaced the IAC and it stopped until now. So maybe ill go after the TPS next. Of course not throwing any code makes it a little harder to figure. its still cheaper than taking it in to the stealer for now. Ill double check the IAC seal as well. thanks Jeff M.
Update.. I just talked to my wife about what thher Escape has been acting like. Looks like the TPS after all. The gas pedal is not responding and lagging etc. Thanks for the help Jeff
