That cam should have a significant lope in the idle. the power should peak at a higher RPM than a 255DEH or a 265DEH. It will suffer at low RPM, unless you have done something to raise the CR of a stock motor.

yea i got a set of tim's flat top zero deck hyperpathetic pistons, really lookin forward to the day i get to hear it for the first time, i've been wanting to put a 400 together for some years, because we've always built small blocks and an occasional 460 and 390 in the mix too, but i just wanna show everybody at the local strip just what these motors can do with not alot of bills thrown at em

I talked to a comp cams rep and he recommended the 256 xtreme energy cam for me. I have so far been pretty impressed with it, but I did have to get the entire kit (valve springs, etc.) which I'm sure they would recommend on the Dual energy cams also.

I just bought a cam and complete spring/retainer kit. Very reasonable...cheaper than ebay.
