I am looking for a set ratcheting wrenchs. Not just any set though. I want there to be a ratcheting "box end" at each end of each wrench. I do not want any "open end" ends on any of them.
For example:
Wrench #1: Ratcheting 5/16 on one end and a ratcheting 3/8 on the other
Wrench #2: Ratcheting 7/16 & 1/2
Wrench #3: 9/16 & 5/8
You get the idea. Same thing for metric. I want them to be the small and compact style as opposed to the big, fat bulky kind.
You want something like this:
or
Westward Tools makes both styles.
The first one.
Westward Tools huh. Never heard of them. How is Westward for quality? Where are they made? Warranty? I searched Snap on, Crapsman and Armstrong, Gear Wrench for these and came up empty handed.
I have the combination wrench style of GearWrench and have been happy with them except that I would like to have a 6 point style instead of a 12. I have a couple of offset ones that are 6 and I like them a lot better. Haven't been able to find any yet though.
I'm not sure why you'd want different sizes on the two ends... because often times I've found that a bolthead might be 1/2" and the nut might be 7/16". A lot of things are made this way on purpose so you can use one set of wrenches rather than multiples.
What I bought were Husky ratcheting box wrenches (SAE and Metric) that have the ratchet on one end, and the same size crescent on the other.
Anyway, the style you're looking for is made by craftsman, stanley, snapon, matco, bahco, wright tools and starret.

I would want a gear wrench at each end because I already have plenty of other wrences that have the open end. If I have a nut and bolt situation w/ diff sizes I would use one of my many other wrenches that don't ratchet. These style I *would guess* are cheaper because I am buying half as many wrenches and the take up half the space in my tool box which is getting full as it is.
Neither sears in my area has them, my snap on catalog does not have them, no one that sells stanley stocks them, did not even think to check matco and never heard of bahco, wright or starret.
