I have always! disliked fords... well I cant say that honestly... I hate their cars still... but I like the trucks... soooo anyways.. I bought a 03 F-250 V8 gasser! 8inch superlift suspension, 38inch tires, air raid intake... anyways.. I will try and post some pics.. I was curious what is the best header system and where do you guys shop for goodies for this truck.. I looked everywhere! 1 question..... when I turn my headlights on... or parking lights... after about 10 mins my speedo will stop responding... it will jump from 5mph *at a stop it says 5* to 15ish... then to 27ish.. then 40ish... etc... same with slowing down... adding pics in my gallery...take a look and let me know what ya think...
A local guy to talk to, cool. There are no VA folks on here it seems. I used Gibson headers on my 5.4L. They woke the motor up, sound go and have stayed tight for the last two years, no problems. They were the only ones available for our trucks when I got mine. I don't know about now there may be some options? The problem with engine mods for the 2001-2003 SD is that the options are limited or confusing. Most are made for the newer 3V 5.4 or the F150 or the 4.6L mustang. It is always a lot of research to find things for the 2V 5.4 and will fit the F250 SD.
You will want to get to know DAVE'S 4X4 on Jeff Davis Highway in Chester. They have a lot of experience playing with our trucks.
Thanks for all the compliments! Front stablizer bar says Superlift on it... not sure if it is a decal covering it or what... yeah I am gonna need to find a place to goto to get my mods done... cause finding performance stuff for this is near impossible lol!
Same here, welcome! That is a real sharp looking truck.I read something a while back about the speedo issue, I will try and find it again.
How's Richmond treating ya? The Beach is fine.
