Wheel Adapaters?

I have a chance to buy some 2004 18" Lariat Arizona beige rims for my 1997 F150...and a really good price to..with 285 tires

i was just wondering where is the cheapest wheel adapter...the only one i could really find by looking quick was $99USD a piece...which would be $400USD and is a little crazy if you ask me.

does anyone know if there is cheaper ones?...say steel?instead of aluminum...and does the adapter affect driving at all?

also will my truck clear the 285's??...my truck is a stock 4x4

They will stick the wheels out farther. I would not run adapters on a heavy truck, but that's my personal opinion on the subject.

The adpaters will space the rims out 1.5 '' and it will look weird not to mention you will then be putting far more strain on the outer wheel bearings.

those wheels are pretty nice...but also crazy $$

the reason i wanted 6 lug is i really like the wheels that come on the new F150's...and i can get Arizona beige ones to match my truck...plus the guy was willing to sell them to me at $25 a piece.and an extra $25 for each BF Goodwrench All-Terrain tire as well.

hence why i was really looking for a way to move to 6 lug.

also i can pick up 6 lug OEM take offs really cheap locally even if i didn't get these ones for $25 a piece

Since you like these wheels and tires,I have a suggestion why not change your rotors and rear to a 6 lug pattern?

I guess you will have to do a search to see what will swap. But it won't be cheap but safer that wheel adapters

I have decided not to go with the 245/70/19.5 wheel setup with my F-350 DumpTruck, too much stress on the unsprung components of the truck.
I have a stock 2000 F-350 dually DumpTruck with 235/85/16 tires, I want to keep the stock 6" rims, and put on 265/75/16 KO3s, (apparently some have done it with great results, of 80k miles)
using good quality steel adapters, it seems, if one wants high grade steel, the thinnest rim adapter one can buy, is 1.5"
I was thinking of using 1" because that would be equivalent DRW tire spacing, as the stock 235 are currently, and less offset leverage on the bearing hub, than 1.5"?
These adapters seem like the strongest and many experienced folks recommend them: https://www.wheeladapter.com/product...-wheel-spacers

If you value your life
Do NOT use wheel spacers
You want 6 lug nuts?
Buy a truck with 6 lug nuts
I leave my 1997 with 5 lug nuts
A factory aluminum wheel looks good enough for a 1997
Certainly, if you are worried about cost, leave it alone
Axles in the rear, hubs and knuckles up front to swap to 6 (expensive)
