I was just going to mention peppermint. My grandmother always planted peppermint plants all around her cottage. Kept all the rodents and crawling bugs out.

I knew a lady who had squirrel problems in her attic. She paid a guy to soak a small rag or something in Red Fox Urine and those squirrels came flying out of there. I dunno if it might get rid of the birds too though.

Absolutely worked. At least I never saw any rodents or bugs in the cottage. She lived out in the boonies too. But when I say around the house. I mean all around the foundation. (her place wasn't very big).
